Since our inception 20 years ago we have trained an existing body of 200 highly experienced Community Art Counsellors many of whom are active in communities throughout South Africa, reaching hundreds of beneficiaries and promoting psychosocial change through the arts. In recent years, we have built up our infrastructure considerably and have also introduced a social entrepreneurial module to our training, promoting sustainable arts outcomes. Annually we showcase the artworks that have resulted from training and applied group work, which includes work done by children, youth, artists, woman and other communities. In 2013 we held an exhibition and workshops for educators and learners at Constitution Hill reaching an average of 400 learners – creating a social action forum during Child Protection week.
