Collective dreaming through music and art-making

Join us for a reflective online workshop where we explore our personal and collective dreams for the world in this time of uncertainty, through art-making and music. This workshop will be facilitated by drama therapist Rozanne Myburgh, and DJ Lola/Anita van der Merwe will provide the musical backdrop for this exploration.

As we slowly adjust to the confusion and uncertainty of these times, we invite you to dream with us about how you would like the world you are a part of to look and feel like, both for yourself and for others. We are all co-creators with creative power, and we can put that power to good use through dreaming into what we want, and bringing that vision into the world through the medium of art.

So we invite you to imagine the world you want to live in: What does it look and feel like to you, personally and collectively? What has changed for the better? What can you contribute, through who you are and what you love? Having a clear vision is a very good first step in bringing about a world that is more sustainable, supportive and inclusive.

How it works

Gather all the art materials you can find at home. Set aside a space where you can work comfortably and, most importantly, undisturbed for two hours. We will start with a welcome and introductions. This will be followed by a guided embodied meditation to open our hearts and feel the connection in the group. Thereafter, the invitation is to creatively engage in art-making for an hour to a curated set of music that will allow you to dream. We will then come back together as a group to reflect on the process and to share, should we choose to.

No previous arts experience is necessary for this workshop.

Funds raised through this workshop will be used to help us support 40 families in the inner city of Johannesburg with food vouchers.
