Drama builds confidence, enhances concentration skills and facilitates communication. Above all, drama provides a magical portal into another world. It’s not only the actors who find their “voice” but the production team. The teenagersmake props and create costumes, which reinforce what they’ve learned in art skills. The exploration and transformation of recycled objects, making something from nothing, is both an exercise in creativity and hope. We have found that basic drama exercises, such as breathing techniques and relaxation have proved immensely beneficial.
