Lefika La Phodiso is excited to collaborate with Wits Art Museum over the next five weeks. Because that means we can continue spreading the importance of the arts in promoting educational, mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, through the WAM Teen_Connect programme.
Every year, as part of WAM’s outreach programmes, they host the Teen_Connect holiday programme where they partner with local NGOs. Due to Covid restrictions this year, the youth could not come to the museum so they are taking the programme to them.
“Starting from 1 August, we are collaborating with Lefika La Phodiso – Community Art Counselling & Training Institute to bring the joy of art to children living in the inner city,” says WAM spokesperson. Over the next five weeks, Teen_Connect will provide creative activities for the children in a special programme aimed at providing creative opportunities, and catering to their emotional and physical wellbeing through art.
The programme was made possible by the support of BofA Securities who sponsor WAM’s educational programme.
