“We receive by giving.”

The gift of giving is a lesson that takes some people a lifetime to learn. For the teens at Lefika La Phodiso who give of their time and knowledge, giving is inherent to their ethos.
There are enormous benefits gained when older children, under trained supervision, become mentors to younger ones. While the older child develops leadership skills, the younger child has access to a positive role model, someone who reflects what they could become. We were delighted that our Volunteens’ Programme was initiated by Open Studio alumni.
